Located just outside Newbury, Berkshire, Donnington Grove is a country house wedding venue embraced by stunning grounds, enchanting views and a quirky, unique character. This 500-acre haven, nestled at the foothills of Donnington Castle, is a picture of bygone luxury. From its 18-hole golf course to the centuries-old artwork and handpainted wallpaper, this grand estate offers a traditional British setting that appeals to even the most diverse tastes. Dating back to 1793, Donnington Grove has enjoyed an array of prestigious inhabitants, from the well-known to the eccentric. A Georgian trendsetter, esteemed historian, and 1920's heiress are just some of the figures to have graced its halls, each leaving behind their own distinctive mark. Today, the grounds contain an intriguing mix of ornamental gardens, secluded lodges, and a tranquil Japanese She-tennoji Temple, ideal for gorgeous wedding photographs. Amidst these enchanting exteriors, including the romantic bridge over the River Lambourn, couples can host an outdoor ceremony beneath the Japanese Pagoda. Up to 120 guests can continue the celebrations within the venue's heated Marquee. Adjacent to this is the Kennet suite, the largest function room in the property. Featuring a high ceiling, an original fireplace, and a patio, this majestic setting can comfortably host up to 100 people. Elsewhere, a choice of smaller areas is available for micro weddings, with the Cloud Room being a stand-out option. This elegant setting contains a soaring handpainted ceiling and large windows overlooking the grounds. The space is also licensed for civil ceremonies with the added benefit of connecting to the Kennet suite and Marquee. After the festivities, couples and their guests will have their pick of a varied selection of stylish rooms, including lake view lodges and the Manor House Suite.
