This summer has been our busiest yet and in August Hult Prize Foundation contacted us to DJ at their events at Ashridge House in Hertfordshire. We have DJed at Ashridge House quite a lot in the past and I was happy to be back on the decks at this magnificent venue!
The Hult Prize is an annual, year-long competition that crowd-sources ideas from MBA and college students after challenging them to solve a pressing social issue around topics such as food security, water access, energy, and education. The Hult family – founders of EF Education First – donates USD 1 million in seed capital to help the winning team launch a social enterprise. The Prize is a partnership between Hult International Business School, the United Nations Foundation, and the Clinton Global Initiative. Bill Clintonselects the challenge topic and announces the winner each September. Clinton mentioned the Hult Prize in a TIME Magazine article about "the top 5 ideas that are changing the world for the better"
Hult Prize Foundation booked us for both their parties this year and also hired our stand alone DJ speaker for a night when we were already booked.
We set up in the Wyatt room and used purple uplighting, our moving head lamps, 2 over head lighting units and we also matched our starbooth to the colour scheme. The dancefloors were full from the very start and we had requests from Snoop Dogg to Salsa! Both nights were really fun and when Hult Prize asked us to play to for an extra 2 hours we were only to happy to do so!
