A few years back we were booked by Kim & Alex to DJ at their wedding at Hillfields Farm in Berkshire. The couple were going for a very rustic feel to their day and were excited to be having their wedding in a beautiful barn venue.
Fast forward a few years and Covid-19 had changed everything. Not only for us as a company but also the wedding industry as a whole. The good news is that just before Kim & Alex's wedding day, the restrictions had just lifted & you could now have upto 120 guests at your wedding. The bad news is that there would be no dancing allowed indoors and face masks needed to be worn when leaving your seat & for speeches.
This just wouldn't have been the wedding Kim & Alex were hoping for so the venue suggested a marquee in their grounds. Apparently if 50% of the marquee is open, its classed as outdoors and you are free to walk around, sing and more importantly DANCE!
Although up until this point the summer had been pretty rubbish. Luck was definitely on their side and the sun was shining all day long!
We still used our rustic wooden DJ set up and we also installed battery powered uplighting along one side of the marquee. This looked fantastic as it got darker and really made a huge difference to the look of the venue in the evening.
